JKAWFA |
Formation Of JKAWFWAFour independent JKA groups in Australia have now been accepted by JKAHQ for independence. In future, JKA Australia, not just one person or group will have the monopoly of the country. JKAWF WA are pleased to form an alliance with the new groups under the umbrella system. Please Note: Any student or Dojo wishing to be affiliated to the JKA in Western Australia must now submit an application for approval to the representative of this region Mr Jim Wood MBE. This web site is designed only to give true facts and related JKA information to any interested parties. It is not designed for propoganda use, and will defend the JKA when necessary. It has no intention of being defamatory to any person/s or other Karate organisations. Towards the formation of JKAWF WA JKAWF WA is a non-profit organisation which will be accountable to its members and the JKAHQ. It will practice the JKA "Open Door" policy to encourage all students to train with the Japan Karate Association. Only Karate-Do as taught by the JKA Karate masters at the JKAHQ in Tokyo Japan will be taught within the JKAWF WA. The JKA world-wide rules and regulations, and our respected Chairman's guidelines, which are posted on the JKA web site, will be strictly adhered to. All instructors of JKAWF WA must be qualified and JKAHQ accredited. JKAWF WA will be completely transparent and democratic, holding the interest of its members foremost. There will be elected office bearers on the JKAWF WA executive, and a Technical committee, with a detailed constitution and an AGM. JKAWF WA will offer its members quality instruction, and an authentic custom built HQ Dojo which is based in Mandurah Western Australia. JKA Dan and Kyu grading examinations will be conducted by qualified JKA examiners, and in future, all gradings conducted by the JKAWF WA will be registered at the JKAHQ. Each grade will receive an authentic JKA certificate with an individual registration number. All members will be fully insured and issued with the JKA licence pass book which will hold all records of the student's career with the JKA, and can only be signed by qualified JKA examiners. Subject to official approval from JKAHQ, it is hoped that JKAWF WA will be able to host their first Special Gasshuku, the schedule has yet to be finalised, and top visiting instructors from the JKAHQ have been invited to attend. There will be a high level JKA DAN and also a KYU examination conducted at this Gasshuku. It is hoped the 1st JKAWFA JKA National Championship will be scheduled soon, and all registered JKA students from the four regions in Australia will be invited to compete for the titles. Our new JKAWF WA Do -Gi badge and related apparel will soon be on display. The four regions will be responsible for the organising of JKAHQ visiting instructors, Gasshukus, competitions, not just on an individual region basis but on a National level. The four regions will be responsible for the selection of competitors and teams etc, for the future Funakoshi Gichin World Cup scheduled in Thailand in 2011. With reference to the JKA Chairman's meeting with about 100 foreign participants at the recent spring Gasshuku in Japan 2009 and his comments on that occasion regarding JKA Australia and JKA New Zealand's dishonorable behaviour towards the JKA, we found it necessary to form a new JKA Karate organisation in Western Australia. Like many other students, and former members of JKAA, we are disatisfied with the leadership of JKAA. Our complaints are documented with JKAA head office. JKAWF WA is a group of dedicated students 100% loyal to the JKA, who merely want to enjoy training freely in the proper JKA tradition and maintain our roots based in Japan. At least now, with the four newly formed independent JKA organisations, Australian students have a choice to remain with the JKA. Australia has some excellent experienced and talented JKA Karate students and instructors, who should not be misled or denied the right to continue their career with the Japan Karate Association. JKAWF WA would welcome enquiries from any student or Dojo in Western Australia who wishes to continue membership and loyalty with the Japan Karate Association, the largest and most prestigious karate organisation in the world. We take this opportunity to wish all JKA students in Australia "Good Luck & Good Health" in the future. Application forms for individual and Dojo membership to the JKAWF WA are now available.
